1. Set up the billiard table by placing the diamond-shaped rack on the center of the table.
2. Rack the 15 balls in a diamond shape within the rack, with the 1 ball at the top, the 2 and 3 balls in the second row, and so on, with the 8 ball in the center.
3. Break the balls by hitting the cue ball from behind the headstring. You need to pocket a ball on the break to continue your turn.
