1. Gather players and choose one person to be the Grinch and another to be Santa Claus.
2. Designate a starting point and a finish line within a predetermined playing area, such as a backyard or park.
3. Have Santa stand at the starting point and the Grinch at the finish line.
4. When the game starts, Santa must run from the starting point to the finish line while the Grinch tries to tag Santa before he reaches the end.
